Indoctrination means teaching someone to accept certain beliefs or ideas without encouraging them to think about or question those ideas. It often involves repeating the same message over and over, coming from people in power, controlling the environment or using emotions to influence. Indoctrination can happen everywhere, like in governments, schools, religions and the media.
Unlike education, which encourages one to think critically and explore different ideas, indoctrination pushes people to accept only one point of view. People who are indoctrinated stop thinking independently, develop strong rigid beliefs and just follow their group without questioning. In severe cases, it changes how people see themselves. Because of this, indoctrination is often seen negatively and compared to brainwashing. To undo indoctrination, people often need help to think critically again and regain their independence in thought.
In short, indoctrination is when people are taught to believe there is only one way without being allowed to question or think for themselves.
Meditation is the antidote to indoctrination. Meditation expands your consciousness and awareness. It gives you the clarity to see through the world. It gives you the confidence to question whatever you see and hear and experience. Like water finds its way, a meditative person finds their way out of indoctrination and stupidity. Life is meant to be enjoyed and explored, not to be lost in nonsense.
Indoctrination leads you to becoming an automaton, controlled externally by others.
Meditation leads you to becoming your true self, living life on your own terms.
