Read this somewhere.
- At 40 years, “highly educated” and “less educated” are the same. (Less educated people may even earn more money)
- At 50 years, “beauty” and “ugly” are the same. (No matter how pretty you are, at this age, wrinkles, dark spots, etc. can no more be hidden.)
- At 60 years, “high position” and “low position” are the same. (After retirement, even a peon will avoid looking at his boss)
- At 70 years, “big house” and “small house” are the same. (Joints degeneration, hard to move, only require a little space to sit .)
- At 80 years, “have money” and “no money” are the same. (Even when you want to spend money, you don’t know where to spend)
- At 90 years, “Sleeping” and “waking up” are the same. (After you wake up, you still don’t know what to do)
Take life easy, there are no mysteries to be solved.
This is what deceives most people – that there are no mysteries to be solved. Life is the biggest mystery. Ask yourself – why are you alive? You will have no answer.
Most people go through life in ignorance or distraction. One is so caught up in the daily hum drum of life, that they remain ignorant of anything outside their immediate view and needs. This leads one to live a reactive life, reacting to actions of others and adapting to situations created by others. Nothing wrong in that – that is a skill in itself. But do you really want to live your life as written by others or do you want to walk your own path. Is it really possible to even walk your own path? How does one even figure how to walk when the path is not visible?
This is where meditation comes in. A person who meditates regularly, has an increased consciousness compared to a person who does not meditate. And what does one gain from an increased consciousness?
Increased consciousness lets you live your life your own way without disturbing others. Most people instead of living their lives fully, are forced by others to live their life in a particular manner. This creates double stress – firstly you are not living life to your full capacity and capability, secondly you are being forced by someone else to live the same ignorant misery as others. This all compounds over time, making you become a bitter, cynical person.
Increased consciousness takes you in the other direction. You start celebrating your life, enjoying every moment. You stop forcing others to do things, as you are too busy enjoying every moment of your life. Life is no more reactive and you actually create a whole proactive life for yourself. Life in itself becomes a song and a dance and merriment all around. Each moment of your life becomes a celebration.
Don’t take my word for it. Experience it yourself. Start your meditation journey NOW!
